Rulindo district has shown a strong commitment to improving education, We have seventy eight (78) primary schools, seventy seven (77) of which are public schools
and one(1) is a private school.
There are 66734 students and 999 primary teachers.
We have twenty seven (27) secondary schools of which twenty two (22) of them are public schools and five (5 ) are private schools. We have four hundred and seventy five (475) teachers in the secondary section and five thousand one hundred and ninety four (5194) students.
We have many best performing schools and an example in the district currently is: stellamatotina which is found in the sector of shyorongi.
The districts education goals will include;


• Using ICT to improve access to, and enhance the quality of education in the district.
• Improving education in high poverty communities
• Improving the quality of education in all sectors/cells.
• Improving primary education in areas of need
• Developing education and employment divisions through out the district.
• Designing early child education fund


How Education can improve our community:


• Improved family planning
• Lower infant mortality
• Fewer maternal deaths in child birth
• Lower HIV/AIDS infection rates.
In conclusion the district will continue raising productivity and ultimate, economic growth of its people and the country at large as Education is the only way of achieving substantial and sustained reductions in poverty.
