Rulindo district has been on the forefront leveraging local infrastructur
to improve access to Healthcare. Each year so many children die
from diseases caused by contaminated water and poor sanitation.
These types of water-related illnesses are a huge barrier to progress in health,
education, and economic growth.
The districts goal is to have the number of people without access to safe water
and sanitation by 2010.

And the key responsibilities are:

• Determine small scale treatment technologies
• Design a project/device and a process that utilizes bottom filtering
to effectively remove dirt and bacteria from drinking water.
• Safe water and sanitation initiatiative;the goal of water and
sanitation initiative is to develop the next young generation
of highly effective,affordable,point of use drinking water
treatment technologies that respond to the user’s need.
Rulindo infrastructure improvement comprises
of rehabilitation of district roads,
annual routine and recurrent maintainance,the specifc objective are to enhance
farmers access markets through improvements in rural infrastructures and their
management by well mobilized communities.
In the continued battle to eradicate poverty the district faces a number of
challenges among them the extension of the electricity supply system through out the sectors.
Future housing schemes for the district; the district is planning to undertake
construction of around 200-500 units of integrated development. This will include low-cost houses,
affordable houses,middle and low income houses that would embed our countries vision.

Acess to electricity for all 2015:

With the tremendous progress of the district we hope by the 2015 most of
Rulindo district residents will be able to have power(electricity) hence achieving the following:
Access to electricity
1. Raises the standard of living,
2.Enables industries and farms to be run more effeciently.
3. Will reduce the work involved in collecting wood.
To sum it all infrastructure goals of Rulindo district will make
it possible to provide Education,Healthcare,access to water and sanitation.
