RULINDO :10 Families in Murambi sector Receive New Homes Built by RDF and Rwanda national Police to Mark Liberation Day 32
During the celebrations marking the 32nd Liberation Day, residents of Rulindo District inaugurated several development projects completed over the past year, including five 2-in-1 houses that have provided decent housing for 10 families in Murambi Sector.
The houses were built through a partnership between the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and the Rwanda National Police (RNP) as part of the security institutions' community outreach program aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable citizens by providing safe and dignified housing.
The handover ceremony was presided over by the Minister in Charge of Emergency Management, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Albert Murasira, accompanied by the Chief of Reserve Force, Maj. Gen. Alexis Kagame, Rulindo District Mayor Judith Mukanyirigira, and other government and security officials.
In her welcoming remarks the Mayor Judith Mukanyirigira paid tribute to the Rwanda Patriotic Army (RPA-Inkotanyi)for liberating the country and ending the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. She also expressed gratitude to President Paul Kagame for his continued leadership and commitment to Rwanda's development.
The Mayor highlighted key infrastructure projects underway in Rulindo District, particularly the Nyacyonga–Mukoto road, noting that construction has reached 56 percent completion. She said the project reflects the government's ongoing efforts to improve connectivity and accelerate socio-economic development in the district.

Rulindo District Mayor Judith Mukanyirigira also highlighted several key development projects completed during the past year. These include the construction of the Barari Cell office in Tumba Sector, the Rwanyana–Kiruli water supply system,four new classrooms built in Shyorongi Sector, a science laboratory for students at Inyange Girls' Secondary School, and a chilli drying facility in Buyoga Sector aimed at supporting agricultural value addition.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister in Charge of Emergency Management, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Albert Murasira, commended the people of Rulindo for their active participation in community development initiatives. He noted that the district's development achievements are a clear reflection of the true meaning of liberation, emphasizing that sustainable progress is driven by citizens working together to improve their livelihoods and build a more prosperous nation.
Minister in Charge of Emergency Management Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Albert Murasira also commended Rulindo residents for their continued contribution to maintaining peace and security, stressing that security remains the foundation of Rwanda's development. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and safeguard the achievements the country has made over the 32 years since Liberation.
"Security is the cornerstone of development. Every Rwandan has a responsibility to preserve it so that the progress we have achieved remains protected and continues to serve as the foundation for sustainable development," he said.
The 32nd liberation day in Rulindo District were attended by several senior government and security officials, including MP Diogène Bitunguramye,Northern Province Executive Secretary Pascal Ngendahimana,Northern Province Police Commander ACP Edmond Kalisa,Rulindo District Council Chairperson Aimable Dusabirane, members of the District Security Committee, as well as representatives of the private sector.
